So before I go on, let me tell you a bit more about myself and answer this important question for you:

Who Is Frank Furness And Why Do I Feel Qualified To Share This Information With You?



I’d like to tell you I was this highly intelligent, academically successful kid who made a name for himself in financial services selling to high net worth clients.

The only part of that which is true is my success in financial services…more of that in a moment.

I was an average kid at school in South Africa.  Average in my lessons and average in sport.  I looked like a nerd…only I didn’t have the brains!

My teachers didn’t hold out much hope for me…

…one even told me “Frank you will amount to nothing. You’ll end up standing on street corners!”

I was determined to prove them wrong so I took a degree in accounting.

Unfortunately after 10 months I got kicked off the course.

That’s when I found my first true vocation in the coolest job on the planet….

I became a drummer in a rock and roll band!

I did that for 6 years and then got married.

That meant only one thing…

…I had to get a real job.

I had a friend who had a swimming pool, a tennis court and a nice Mercedes.

He sold financial services.  I decided that’s what I was going to do as well.

So I found out where he worked, knocked on the boss's door and announced “I’ve come to sell…

Even Though I Wanted To Sell Financial Services..They Wouldn’t Employ Me..In Hindsight, I Can See Why!



I failed three interviews and three aptitude tests.  He told me “You’re no good for the business”.

My problem…?

I still looked like a musician so he wouldn't hire me.

That didn’t deter me.

I rang him every day at 8.00am and asked him “When do I start?

His response…

You’re not…!

This went on for 3 months!

Eventually he gave in before I did…

…and that’s how I got my start in financial services.

I did the three week course sales and technical course and went back to the branch ready to start work.

My boss pointed me at the phone and told me I had to cold call for the first two hours of the day.

I had to make appointments to see four new people every day.

He told me “One won’t be there.  One won’t know why you’re there.  Three will like you and one will buy from you.”

…so that’s what I did.

Every day I saw four people and got my 5 sales a week…

…and by the end of the year I was the top sales consultant in my branch.

I Learnt To Set Goals And That Skyrocketed My Success


I became a sales manager and built a successful team.

I had a great lifestyle in South Africa with a large beach house.  I diversified my wealth and bought and developed a number of other businesses with my wife.

Life was good.

And then I decided to give it all up.

Why?

Well I had the opportunity to work with two superstar financial advisors in London.

The only problem?

I couldn’t take any money out of South Africa.

If I went to London, I’d have to start from scratch again.

And so that’s what I did.

When I got to London I had to hit the phones and cold call again…

…and that’s what I did.

My new bosses gave me a commission target of £20k a month.  It took me three months to hit that and I never looked back.

I qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table Top of the Table that year and every year after.

I was always keen to get even better at what I did and invested heavily in my own development.

My biggest lesson…?

…find successful people who already achieve what I want to achieve and ask them how they do it…

…and then do what they do.

As an overachiever I went out and asked the top 500 financial sales people what they did that made them successful.

I did two things with what I learnt from them:

And since then I’ve been helping financial advisors learn how to sell more, especially to high net worth individuals.
